Licensed Vocational Nurse Position Summary

At Treat n Go (TNG) Clinics, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works closely with the Nurse Practitioner (NP) on duty to ensure that each patient receives excellent, quality care in a warm and caring environment, while ensuring the patient flow process maintains efficiencies necessary to meet TNG’s goals.  During each patient encounter, the LVN’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, greeting patients, collecting patient information, performing appropriate clinical tasks, handling payments, and making documentation into the electronic medical record and accounting systems.   The LVN also assists the NP with the overall maintenance and management of the clinic environment.  The LVN’s direct report is the Lead NP for his/her assigned clinic(s).  While on duty, the LVN will be managed directly by the NP and Supervising Physician on duty, as well as TNG’s Corporate Executive Staff.


Qualifications:   

  1. Excellent Customer Service skills.
  2. Proficient computer skills.
  3. Ability to read, write and comprehend medical information.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Bi-lingual preferred.
  6. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds comfortably.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School graduate preferred – GED acceptable.
  2. Current Texas LVN License.
  3. Six months related experience in a physician’s office or health care setting preferred.
